| This new collection of songs from the folk duo 'String Whistle' was
inspired by the time that Dave spent last autumn living close to Mother Earth in an
ancient Welsh hill-top fort for the BBC TV 'Surviving The Iron Age' series, screened in the USA and Canada as 'Castaway BC'. Dave, his wife Anne (the chief) and their young son Chris joined with
other volunteers to try to recreate something of what it felt like to live in those
distant days. As a result, Dave and his long-term fellow
'String-Whistler' Rob put together this beautifully arranged, evocatively performed
selection of traditional music. With a Celtic flavour, their sound is often
haunting, sometimes humorous and always enjoyable.
So sit back and enjoy this unique musical treat. |
